OTTAWA — Third-grade students at SS. Peter and Paul School in Ottawa this past year came up with a possible solution to the problem of traffic driving too fast in front of the school.
After seeing pictures in their Scholastic News magazine, the students decided a three-dimensional crosswalk might help slow down cars and make it safer to cross Locust Street.
Several teachers and three recent alumni designed and painted the 3D crosswalk. Because of the way it is painted, the crosswalk appears to float above the ground.
