Shawnee Optimists recognizes essay, oratorical, scholarship winners


LIMA — The Shawnee Optimist Club’s Essay Contest winner, Marina Shenouda, a Shawnee High School Senior, went on to win $2,500 at the District Level for Ohio. This is the top award for the essay competition.

The Shawnee Optimist Club’s Oratorical Contest was won by Karina Delgado, a Shawnee Middle School student, who went on to win the District contest and was the fourth-place winner at the regional level for Ohio.

Shawnee Optimists’ Scholarships of $1,000 were awarded Shawnee students Madison Downing, Alex Morrisey and Marina Shenouda; Lima Central Catholic student Anna Kahle and Perry student Caitlin Shively.
