LIMA — The Lima school board approved rolling over current collective bargaining agreements due to the coronavirus during Monday night’s meeting.
The agreement continues the current contracts and allows for one-time stipends for employees for the Lima Congress of School Administrative Personnel, the Lima Education Association and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees Locals No. 137, No. 306 and No. 433.
The reason for the extensions is because of the inability of all groups to get together and negotiate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Each one of those groups is getting a flat amount stipend which would be equivalent to 2% for the classified and the certified and about 1.8% for the administrators,” said Jill Ackerman, superintendent of Lima schools. “It would be a one-time separate from the pay scale bonus.”
