Elida students to perform at honors concert


ELIDA — Elida High School will be well represented when the Ohio Music Education Association District 3 Honors Band, Choir and Jazz Band meet and perform in January at The Van Wert Niswonger Performing Arts Center.

O.M.E.A. District 3 represents 8 Counties and over 60 High Schools. Almost 400 musicians auditioned for the three groups.

Members of the Elida music department that auditioned and were accepted include concert band members Thomas Williamson (bass clarinet), Joel Purugganan (French horn) and Ethan Bowersock (euphonium).

Members of the jazz band include Cale Wright (alto sax) and Brady Thomas (drum set).

Members of the choir include Emalee Cunningham (soprano), Alyssa Stiles (alto), Ryan Vetters (tenor), Scott Holmgren (tenor) and Hunter Brendle (bass).

The concert will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at Van Wert’s Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
