Van Wert receives grant from NASA

VAN WERT — Van Wert Middle School was one of 14 after-school programs announced as a recipient of a grant by NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland to implement a new engineering design challenge, Spacecraft Safety, during the 2019-2020 academic year.

The Spacecraft Safety design challenge guides sixth through ninth graders through the engineering design process to design and build a model of a spacecraft that can carry astronauts and safely land them. The awardees receive a challenge related to current Glenn research, supporting science investigations that go deeper into the content and align directly with the Next Generation Science Standards.
