LIMA — The Shawnee Optimist Club honored several area high school seniors at a luncheon at the Old Barn Out Back.
The Students of Honor and Achievement Awards program is designed to recognize an individual who has displayed a desire to perform at their very best in everything they choose to do. They’re exceptional role models who exhibit outstanding qualities as a high school senior.
This award also recognizes those students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills inside and outside the classroom, school and community volunteerism, academic accomplishments but more importantly the recognition of an individual who has excelled in achieving many of the characteristics outlined in The Optimist Creed.
The seniors that were honored included:
• Shawnee: Justin Behnke, Cooper Conley, Barbara Hayes, Ayodele Ojo and Gabriel Williams.
• Lima Central Catholic: Maritza Aguirre, Samuel King, Hailey Koenig, Cassandra Rose and Daniel Siatkosky.
• Perry: Louis Hoersten, Kevin Miller, Wesley Nguyen, Gracie Prine and Jillella Weingart.
• Apollo Career Center: Audisty Brunk, Joseph Carver, Shane Cornell, Austin Dulebolm and Hannah Watson.
