LIMA — Students in Lima Senior High School’s patient care program will again this year adopt grandparents while getting a glimpse into nursing jobs in skilled care communities.
The Adopt a Grandparent Program takes students to Liberty Retirement Community once a month. The facility is located at 2440 Baton Rouge.
The first visit was on Tuesday. Students will then visit the second Tuesday of each month. Students will plan special activities each month.
Students will be assigned a specific resident and will help with activities for the residents. The program will be a good bonding experience for students and residents, as well as an introduction for students to nursing facilities.
