Lincolnview teacher awarded by Ohio institute

VAN WERT — Rachel Rohrs, a teacher at Lincolnview High School, was awarded educator of the year by the Ohio Insurance Institute for partnering with Central Insurance and the InVEST program during the 2017-18 school year.

Rohrs introduced students to the insurance industry.

She was presented with a plaque and $1,000 by Kevin Wermer, a representative of the OII Education and Workforce Development Committee. An additional $500 was given to Lincolnview schools.

Brad Mendenhall, principal of Lincolnview High School, said in a press release the money would be used to purchase graphing calculators for classrooms.
