Bluffton professor to present on trigger warnings


“Trigger Warnings in the Classroom: Seeing a Balance Between ‘Coddling’ and ‘Caring,’ 4 p.m., Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall, Bluffton University, 1 University Drive, Bluffton.

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University professor Dr. Deanna Barthlow-Polkanowicz will discuss “Trigger Warnings in the Classroom: Seeking a Balance Between ‘Coddling’ and ‘Caring,’” at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall, Bluffton University, 1 University Drive, Bluffton. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Dr. Barthlow-Potkanowicz’s talk will focus on the history of trigger warnings, advantages and disadvantages of their use and practical recommendations for professors at small, liberal arts colleges.
