Mary Marker receives Distinguished Alumnus Award

LIMA — Mary L. Marker received the 2018 Distinguished Alumnus Award during the Ohio Association of Community Colleges’ annual conference on June 8.

Marker graduated from Lima Technical College, now Rhodes State College, in 1980. She was a member of the first respiratory care class. She earned a bachelor’s of business administration from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2007.

Marker has been an employee of Mercy Health St. Rita’s Medical Center and was director of cardiopulmonary ancillary services. Currently Marker is manager of Mercy Health-St. Rita’s occupational health.

She serves on the respiratory care advisory committee at Rhodes State College, spent 13 years as the chair and has been a clinical instructor and taught classes. Marker also served on the Ohio Society for Respiratory Care as the representative of the northwest district.
