ASHLAND — Bethany Schlemmer, of Ohio City, and Sean Quigley, of New Knoxville, are members of the Human Trafficking Awareness Group at Ashland University, the school announced.
Schlemmer, who is majoring in social work, is a 2015 graduate of Parkway High School. Quigley, a 2017 graduate of New Knoxville High School, is majoring in international political science.
The Human Trafficking Awareness Group started out of a spring break mission trip in 2008 through Ashland University’s Isaiah Project. The group focuses on bringing hope to victims of human trafficking through educating peers, professors, family and community members on the various facets of human trafficking.
