Wapakoneta High School Alumni will be inducted into school’s Hall of Fame


WAPAKONETA — Four Wapakoneta High School alumni will be inducted into the school’s Alumni Hall of Fame at 6:30 p.m. Feb 10.

James R. Bowsher, class of ‘67, Joseph R. Lenhart (1969), Wilbur A. Schneider (1965), and Dr. Jeffery B. Travers (1980) will be recognized for their outstanding achievements.

Bowsher will be honored for his accomplishments as an archaeologist, humanitarian, artist, creator and visionary and his interview with the last survivor of Hiroshima Ground Zero.

Lenhart will be honored for earning a Purple Heart during the Vietnam War, being the recipient of the Hammer Award, contributing to the Bar Code Medication Administration and creating learning opportunities in various countries.

Schneider, a Korean War veteran, will be honored for being a Secret Service member in Washington, D.C., who guarded various United States presidents and their children.

Travers will be honored for his accomplishments, which include being the youngest person to lead the Indiana University dermatology department and being a worldwide lecturer.
