Lima schools to get new school resource officer

LIMA — Lima’s West Middle School will have a new school resource officer as of Monday.

Gerald Manley will be sworn in as Lima schools’ newest school resource officer at 1 p.m. Monday in Lima Municipal Court by Judge Tammie Hursh. A Lima native, Manley has been with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for more than 25 years.

School resource officers are sworn law enforcement officers that can offer both security in schools as well as a means to form positive connections between youth and law enforcement.
