OSU-Lima group advances in a capella group competition

LIMA — Carmony, an a capella group based out of Ohio State University’s Lima campus, won a quarterfinal competition for the 2017 International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella championship in February at Bowling Green High School, winning by a 34-point margin over the second-place group.

In individual categories, Shaunna Basinger, of Kalida, and Collin Hoffman, of Dunkirk, won for best choreography and best vocal percussion, respectively.

The semifinal competition will be held March 25 in Buffalo, New York. The competition will include 450 groups competing in nine regions across the United States and Europe.
