Lee’s Famous Recipe recognizes founders

SHALIMAR, Fla. — The Yohe family of Lima, which established the first Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken franchise in 1966, was honored with the company’s Legacy Award during a recent annual conference.

The award recognized the Yohe family for its contributions to building the Lee’s brand over multiple generations of family ownership.

More than 55 years after Lee’s Famous Recipe was founded in Lima, there are 131 Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken locations in 12 U.S. states and in Canada.

Also recognized with a Rising Star award at the annual conference were Ryan and Wanda Hoehn, owners of the Lee’s restaurant in Wapakoneta, for achieving the highest year-over-year sales growth of any unit in the system in 2020.
