LIMA — Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center received an A safety rating from national watchdog organization the Leapfrog Group, which assigns safety grades to general hospitals every six months. The watchdog group rates hospitals based on how well they were able to prevent medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients.
This is St. Rita’s sixth consecutive A rating from the Leapfrog Group.
“The St. Rita’s team has remained steadfast in our commitment to provide the highest quality, most compassionate care to our community, even during such an unprecedented year in health care,” Ronda Lehman, president of Mercy Health-Lima, said in a statement about the rating. “This recognition shows that despite the many challenges our teams have encountered, St. Rita’s will always put the care of our patients first.”
