Pandora native honored at Defiance patrol post


DEFIANCE — A Putnam County native and Fort Jennings High School graduate has been named the Ohio State Highway Patrol 2020 Trooper of the Year at the Defiance post.

Tyler J. Blankemeyer, 24, was selected for the honor in recognition of outstanding service during 2020. He joined the patrol in 2018.

Originally from Pandora, Blankemeyer is a graduate of Fort Jennings High School. After graduation, he served in the Marine Corp Reserves.

Blankemeyer is now in contention for district and state honors as Trooper of the Year.
