Lima man named ‘Caregiver of the Year’

LIMA — Karl Beaucamp, an in-home caregiver for seniors and adults with developmental disabilities, has been named regional Caregiver of the Year by Right at Home.

Beaucamp, who has a mild speech impediment and learning disability, became a caregiver two years ago after a difficult time in the fast food industry. Now, his disabilities have allowed Beaucamp to form a “special bond” with his clients and forge a more meaningful career.

“Some people, they can’t fully connect with them,” Beaucamp said.

Beaucamp was one of 25,000 caregivers considered for the award.
