BATH TOWNSHIP — U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, met with leadership and employees at the Lima Ford Engine Plant on Wednesday to discuss the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement, which is now fully in effect.
Portman, a former U.S. trade representative who helped move the original trade agreement through the House and Senate, praised the USMCA for incentivizing more auto production in Ohio.
“If our trade is fair,” he said in a statement on Wednesday, “America can compete, win and create more jobs and better wages. This agreement is a nice shot in the arm to our economy, and it’s going to be great for Ohio.”
