LIMA — Bob Evans Farms has hired 30 applicants who interviewed with the company during MakerFest’s October job fair, which drew nearly 800 job seekers from around the region.
“The potential of the candidates that we have interviewed and hire are people we were not seeing apply before,” Kurt Oates, a training manager for Bob Evans Farms, stated in a press release. “This is a great start in upgrading our talent pool in our factory, so that we can support the growth of Lima.”
Oates said the company interviewed more than 60 applicants and made 35 job offers during the job fair. Most new hires have already started entry-level, machine operator, warehouse and team lead positions.
MakerFest is hosted by the Greater Lima Region Inc. The two-day event starts with STEM competitions and job readiness workshops designed for the region’s high school students and concludes with a job fair open to students and adults.
