St. Rita’s recognized for environmental stewardship

LIMA — The Ohio Hospital Association has recognized Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center for reducing energy consumption by 4.2% from 2017 to 2018, earning the hospital an Energy Cup 2% Savings award from the Ohio Hospital Association.

More than one-third of Ohio hospitals competing in the 2018 contest reduced energy consumption by at least 2% compared to the previous year, according to a press release from St. Rita’s Medical Center.

“Mercy Health cares about the community and therefore our environment,” Mercy Health-Lima President Ronda Lehman said in a press release. “As a Catholic healthcare ministry, we are called to a deeper reverence and respect for God’s creation and to be good stewards of the Earth.”
