Honda opens $1.9 million training center

BELLEFONTAINE — Honda of America Mfg. has opened a 40,000 square-foot training center in Bellefontaine to help train new production associates.

The $1.9-million investment offers associates a two-week, hands-on, innovative program for Honda’s Marysville Auto Plant, East Liberty Auto Plant and the Anna Engine Plant. The facility allows 100 new production associates to train each week with veteran Honda manufacturing staff offer who offer training in process simulation, hands-on static skills and classroom instruction.

“Our associates are working with advanced technology as the evolution of manufacturing continues to progress,” Honda of America Vice President, Pam Heminger, said in a news release. “It’s innovative approaches like this training center that will continue to modernize our workforce.”
