Ridgemont’s Faulkner a Golden Owl Award finalist

MOUNT VICTORY — Ridgemont High School teacher Shelby Faulkner is a finalist in Nationwide Insurance’s Golden Owl Award, which recognizes the top teachers in Ohio and Iowa.

Faulkner is among nine other Ohio teachers and seven Iowa teachers who receive $500 each and could win the Golden Owl Award, which is worth $3,000.

“We created this award to bring attention to the growing need for agricultural teachers in this country,” said Brad Liggett, president of Agribusiness for Nationwide.

The grand prize winners for each state will be announced in April.
