Kiwanis honor Toney for heroism

LIMA — Pastor Robert Toney was presented with the Robert Connelly Medal of Heroism by the Kiwanis of Lima during the group’s Dec. 4 meeting.

Toney risked his life on June 2 to save two neighbors whose house was on fire.

The award is in memory of Kiwanis member Robert P. Connelly, who lost his life in 1966 in the Chicago area when he attempted to save a women who fell in front of an advancing train. In 1967, Kiwanis International established the award.
