Cooper Farms holds annual race that supports hospice


ST. HENRY — More than 200 runners and walkers participated in the 12th annual Turkey Trot 5K run/walk on Nov. 3.

The Turkey Trot, sponsored by Cooper Farms, raised close to $2,500 which was donated to its event partner, State of the Heart Hospice.

Rachel Kahler won the female run with a time 21:30.4. Kimberly Meyer won second place with a time of 23:03.7 and Jackie Kemper took third place with a time of 23:04.1.

Cele Gonzalez won the male run with a time of 18:48.6. Dean Oakley won second place with a time of 19:13.8 Tony Heitkamp won third place at 19:57.2.

Trent Kline, Matt Shindeldecker, Ron Winhoven, Bo Maus, Eric Sutter and Shawn Stein each carried a flag for the race to honor fallen heroes.

Sgt. Andre Booker, Cpl. Stephen Sockalosky, SPC Jordan Schumann, Staff Sgt. Matthew Ammerman, Sgt. Ricardo Diaz and Capt. William Dubos were fallen heroes honored that day.
