Grand Lake Health offers Welcome Home Baby program

ST. MARYS — Grand Lake Home Health and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Birth Center is now offering a new Welcome Home Baby program.

The new no-charge program will help support new mothers and their babies and mothers who have transitioned from the hospital to home with discovering their health and safety needs.

Mothers who live in St. Marys or in Allen, Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, Shelby and Van Wert counties may also have the opportunity to schedule a one-time Welcome Home Baby visit in their home with a registered nurse.

The nurse will get the baby’s current weight, assess current feeding patterns, check and provide home safety items and provide information about newborn care, breast/bottle feeding, child development and community services.

Staff and physicians at Birthing Center at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital will determine the families who need the support and, from there, will make a referral.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, call Grand Lake Home Health at 419-394-7434.
