Retired history professor to receive award

DUBLIN — Ray Schuck, retired Ohio Northern University History and Museum Studies Professor and former director and curator at the Allen County Museum, will receive an Individual Achievement Award from the Ohio Local History Alliance on Saturday, Oct. 6 during its annual conference.

Individual achievement awards are given to individuals to recognize their contributions to Ohio’s historical societies, history museums or to the understanding and appreciation of local and state history.

During his time as a professor at ONU, Schuck was awarded the Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award three times. He served as director of the Allen County Museum and a curator from 1975 to 2000. He also served on the Ohio Museums Association, Ohio Archivists Society and the Ohio Academy of History boards.
