CINCINNATI — The Ohio Society of Professional Journalists has awarded Delphos native Duane Pohlman one of its top achievements: Best Television Reporter. The award honors Pohlman’s reporting this past year at WKRC-TV in Cincinnati. This marks the eighth time in four states that Pohlman has been named reporter of the year.
Pohlman and a group of photojournalists and editors at WKRC-TV were also honored with first-place awards for investigations that aired in 2017. Pohlman won Best Environmental Reporting for an investigation into alleged cancer connections to the main chemical in the country’s most popular weed killer, Best Enterprise Reporting for an in-depth probe of hate groups, and Best Government Reporting for an investigation of claims of injury and damages that go unpaid, which led to two bills being introduced at the Ohio Statehouse.
SPJ recognizes journalists for their dedication to service and sets a level of standards and ethics when recognizing outstanding achievements in the field of journalism.
