Mulder selected to lead Alliance of Ohio Legal Aids

TOLEDO — State legal aid organizations have formed the Alliance of Ohio Legal Aids to help improve access to quality legal serviced to low-income individuals and groups.

Kevin Mulder, Legal Aid of Western Ohio, Inc., executive director, was elected to serve as the first chair for the alliance.

According to a press release, nearly 15 percent of Ohioans live in poverty and can not afford to pay for a lawyer. They are, however, more likely to need legal representation because of issues related to their lower income status including; housing insecurity, access to health care, protection from domestic violence and other issues.
