COLUMBUS — Several area youth livestock exhibitors at the Ohio State Fair returned home with champion animals.
Caden Jones, of Harrod, son of Trevor and Keri Jones, won Champion Division 3 Crossbred grand champion market animal. His grand champion was purchased for $41,500 by Steve R. Rauch Excavation and Demolition; $22,000 of which he received and the other $19,500 of which goes to the Youth Reserve Program to provide FFA and 4-H program competition awards and scholarships.
His sister, Addison Jones, of Harrod, won Champion Angus breeding heifer grand champion
Caitlin Schaub, of Auglaize County, daughter of Mike and Judy Schaub, took third overall heifer in champion percent Simmental. Elizabeth Heintz, also of Auglaize County, daughter of Christopher and Michelle Heintz, placed third overall market animal with her Champion Maine Anjou.
Delaney Jones, of Allen County, daughter of Troy and Sara Jones, finished fifth in overall market animal in Champion Chianina.
