LIMA — Farmers, ranchers and other agricultural producers still have time to nominate eligible candidates from Amanda, Shawnee, Perry and Auglaize Townships to serve on the FSA County Committee.
The FSA county committees help local farmers through their decisions on conservation programs and disaster programs, ARC/PLC and loans through a collaborations with county executive directors.
To be eligible, one must must be permitted to vote in a county committee election, participate or cooperate in a program administered by FSA and live in the local administrative area where they are running.
Candidates can nominate themselves or others on the nomination form FSA-699A. The form must be postmarked or received in the USDA Service Center by end of business day Aug 1.
Ballots will be mailed to eligible voters by November 5 and will be due back to the local USDA Service Centers on Dec. 3. County committee members will take office Jan. 1.
