Bluffton EMS to be honored at statewide event

COLUMBUS — Bluffton Emergency Medical Services will be among first responders from across the state honored at the 18th annual Emergency Medical Services Star of Life Awards ceremony.

The event will be held May 22 in the ODOT auditorium in Columbus in observance of National Emergency Medical Services Week, which runs May 20-26.

The event is sponsored by the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Division of Emergency Medical Services, the State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire and Transportation Services and the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

The theme of the week is “EMS STRONG: Stronger Together…,” which exemplifies the commitment and dedication of the 750,000 EMS providers nationwide, and the more than 41,000 in Ohio, who provide an essential community service every day, according to organizers.
