Locals do well at Ohio Beef Expo Junior Show

MARYSVILLE — The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) Junior Show was held March 18 during the 2018 Ohio Beef Expo at the Ohio Expo Center, Columbus, The annual show spotlighted nearly 900 steers and heifers.

Mark Johnson, Oklahoma, evaluated the breeding heifers while Amanda Schnoor, California, assessed the market animals.

Area winners included Addison Jones (Allen County, Grand Champion, Champion Angus); Caitlin Schaub (Auglaize County, Reserve Champion, Champion Percent Simmental) Hanna Schroeder (Putnam County, eighth overall, Champion ShorthornPlus); Addison Jones (Allen County, Champion Angus); Hanna Schroeder (Putnam County, Champion ShorthornPlus); Reed Hanes (Mercer County, Reserve ShorthornPlus), Caitlin Schaub (Auglaize County, Champion Percent Simmental); Reed Hanes (Mercer County, Reserve Percent Simmental); Brooke Egbert (Auglaize County, Reserve High Percent AOB).

The market animals winners included Brooke Egbert (Auglaize County, Grand Champion, Champion Crossbred, Division III Champion); Elizabeth Heintz (Auglaize County, Third Overall Crossbred, Division II Reserve Champion); Elizabeth Heintz (Auglaize County, fourth 4th Overall, Champion Chianina); Elizabeth Heintz (Auglaize County, Champion Chianina); Taylor Muhlenkamp (Mercer County, Reserve Shorthorn); Elizabeth Heintz (Auglaize County, Reserve Division II Crossbred); Brooke Egbert (Auglaize County, Champion Division III Crossbred); Brooke Egbert (Auglaize County, Champion Crossbred, Division III Champion); Elizabeth Heintz (Auglaize County, third overall Crossbred, Division II Reserve Champion).
