Grand Lake Hospice exceeds average in national survey

ST. MARYS — Grand Lake Hospice in St. Marys exceeded the national average in every category of a survey of customer satisfaction and patient experience recently released by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.

The first-time report, known as the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Hospice Survey, was designed to measure and assess the experiences of patients who died while receiving hospice care and their informal primary caregivers.

Grand Lake Hospice exceeded the national average in eight areas measured by the survey — hospice team communication, getting timely care, treating family members with respect, getting emotional and religious support, getting help for symptions, getting hospice care training, rating of hospice and willingness to recommended
