Dr. Michael Tempel elected to American health board

LIMA — Dr. Michael Tempel, of Lima, has been elected to the American Health Council’s Board of Physicians.

Tempel is a general surgeon at Lima Memorial Health System, with a focus on colon and rectal cancer and surgery. He has been in the medical field for 17 years. Tempel graduated from Wabash College and Indiana University of Medicine, receiving his medical degree in 2000. He is a fellow with both the American College of Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.

The American Health Council has representatives from all sectors of the healthcare industry and has members from both metropolitan and small communities.
