LIMA — In an effort to shift its focus on its Information Technology services to local business in Lima, Maumee and Northwest Ohio, the Virtual Technologies Group will be redeveloping its Lima location into a business-to-business market.
Although the Maumee location will go unchanged, the company will be closing its retail department along with personal computer repairs and sales in Lima effective last Friday at the Lima location, as well officially closing its showroom on Jan. 31. However, warranties on products purchased in 2017 will still be honored.
The Lima location is at 3820 S. Dixie Highway, Lima.
Changes in this capacity are nothing new to VTG. In 1962 the company, originally called C.A.R.D.S., was in the business-to-business market and served local schools and businesses.
It was not until later that the company changed its name and gradually began to add office supplies, equipment sales, personal computer sales and repairs to the services offered by VTG. The company also began changing location and started to expand.
Now as the company embarks on its journey with IT, it will be committed to delivering reliable, cost-efficient services, maintenance and support solutions for cloud-based data, voice-over-IP phone systems and desktop/laptop environments. The company said that the newest change will unite the Lima branch with its other location in Maumee while they operate under the same business-to-business strategy.
“We’re incredibly excited at the opportunities that lie ahead,” VTG President and CEO Chuck Greeley in a news release. “We couldn’t be prouder to have served this area for all these years. We want to deeply thank all our retail customers for their incredible support over the past 25 years. Now we look forward, with renewed focus, to further strengthen our offerings to businesses right here in Lima and take ourselves, as well as our clients, to all new heights.”
