LIMA — This holiday season, the West Ohio Food Bank was one of 16 food pantries selected to receive a $5,000 donation from the SpartanNash Foundation.
Each year, SpartanNash distribution centers donate money to different pantries located in the communities where the its associates live and work. This year the foundation donated $80,000, pushing it to more than $1 million since the start of the tradition in 2004.
“Donations like this support our Foundation’s mission of ending hunger while also building relationships where they matter most – in our local communities,” said vice president of corporate affairs and communications and the executive director of the SpartanNash Foundation, Meredith Gremel, in a news release. “We are honored to be able to support these distribution center partner pantries and do our part to put food on peoples’ tables.”
