BLUFFTON — The echocardiography laboratories at Blanchard Valley Hospital and Bluffton Hospital have been re-accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission.
The BVH and Bluffton echo labs perform echocardiograms, a non-invasive test used to assess different areas of the heart and detect heart disease or signs of serious conditions.
This accreditation recognizes labs that provide a high level of patient care and quality testing when diagnosing heart disease. To receive the accreditation, BVH and Bluffton echo labs underwent a comprehensive application process and a detailed review of its echocardiography operations.
First accredited in 2005, BVH received re-accreditations in 2008, 2011 and 2014. Bluffton Hospital was first accredited in 2008, and received re-accreditations in 2011 and 2014. The accreditation is valid for three years.
