Local driver honored
LIMA — Jeremiah Larrabee, of Lima, who works at Stoops Freightliner, was recognized at the annual Management Conference and Exhibition, some of the trucking industries’ “top honors.”
“Throughout the country, the trucking industry is full of individuals who exhibit a commitment to safety and professionalism each day, but there are certain individuals who have surpassed the call of duty in demonstrating that commitment,” said American Trucking Association President and CEO Bill Graves, in a statement.
Setex employees honored
ST. MARYS — Several employees of Setex in St. Marys were recently honored with a Patriot Award.
Don Tipton, Production Supervisor; Brenda Lange, Human Resource Supervisor; Beth Imber, Production Team Leader; and Connie Johnson, Human Resource Supervisor, were awarded the honor from the Ohio Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, part of the Department of Defense.
They were given the award for support of their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve, according to a release.
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve,” said Steve Koper, Ohio ESGR state chair, in a statement.
The Setex employees supported fellow employee and Reserve component employee Jonathan B. Earles.
Stratton hired at AEDG
LIMA — Dave Stratton has been hired as the director of business development at Allen Economic Development Group.
Stratton has 25 years of experience in business as co-owner of Stratton Greenhouses, The Black Lab Trading Company and Stratton Properties in Bluffton, according to a release from AEDG.
He will be in charge of identifying and directing business development opportunities and activities in the county.
Mitchell joins local law firm
LIMA — Huffman, Kelley, Brock & Gottschalk recently hired Matthew M. Mitchell as an associate.
Mitchell specializes in civil litigation, criminal defense, juvenile and family law, personal injury, small business law and workers compensation, according to a release from the firm.
He’s a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Allen County Bar Association and the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys.
UNOH hires graphic designer
LIMA — Georgia Krebs, a recent graduate of Bowling Green State University, was hired by the University of Northwestern Ohio as a graphic designer and photographer.
She will be responsible for creating and designing UNOH marketing materials, according to a release.
She’s an alumna of Liberty-Benton High School near Findlay.
Director of Counseling hired at UNOH
LIMA — The University of Northwestern Ohio recently hired Jaclyn Jarvis as director of counseling services.
Jarvis will be in charge of offering mental health counseling to students and will work with the student success department, according to a release.
Farley, Mieure hired at UNOH
LIMA — Nic Farley and Matt Mieure were recently hired at the University of Northwestern Ohio as Instructional Technologists in the virtual college support department.
Farley recently graduated from the university and Mieure has a master’s degree in Learning Design.
Koppenhofer to be registrar
LIMA — The University of Northwestern Ohio recently hired a registrar for the college of applied technology.
Hillary Koppenhofer, a 2015 graduate of UNOH’s Accounting program, will be in charge of registering all College of Applied Technology students for classes, collecting and recording all scheduling information, maintaining accurate student records and assisting with graduation functions, according to a release.
Healt Information Technology professor hired at UNOH
LIMA — Cheryl Homan was recently hired to be a professor at the University of Northwestern Ohio.
Homan will work as a health information technology professor and was previously working as an administrative director at Lima Memorial Hospital.
UNOH hires robotics and automation instructor
LIMA — Jim Perlberg was hired as a new faculty member at the University of Northwestern Ohio.
He will work in the Robotics and Automation Technology program and will be responsible for curriculum development and teaching robotics, electrical and hydraulic courses, according to a release.
He is a retired Navy veteran with 22 years’ experience, a Senior Staff Instructor with FANUC Robotics America and has gotten two president’s team of excellence awards.
Shepherd promoted to executive VP
COLUMBUS GROVE — Curtis Shepherd, a Lima native, was promoted to Executive Vice President at Union Bank.
He graduated from Lima Senior High School and The Ohio State University. He is a member of several local committees.
Deitering becomes senior VP, Chief Credit Officer
COLUMBUS GROVE — Teresa Deitering, a Findlay native, was promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer at Union Bank.
She graduated from Findlay High School, Bowling Green State University and the University of Findlay,with her Masters of Finance.
Reese promoted to VP
COLUMBUS GROVE — Amy Reese, a long-time Elida resident, was named Vice President at Union Bank and will continue to be the manager of the Lima West branch on Elida Road.
She has been in banking for over 33 years and has many industry certifications.
Cira named VP at Union Bank
COLUMBUS GROVE — Paul Cira, of Lima, was named to Vice President, Branch manager at Union Bank and will still manage the Lima West branch on Bellefontaine Avenue.
He graduated from Bath High School, The Ohio State University and Ashland University, with an MBA.
Union Bank promotes Maag
COLUMBUS GROVE — Karen M. Maag, of Putnam County, was promoted to Vice President, Branch Manager at Union Bank and will remain the manager of the Kalida office.
She graduated from Kalida High School and Rhodes State College and has over 18 years of experience in marketing, management and mortgage lending.
Matthews appointed senior lender
PANDORA — Brendon Matthews was recently named as a Senior Lender at First National Bank.
Matthews joined the bank in 2006 and has had many positions at the company, including Loan Officer and Sales Director, according to a release from the bank.
As Senior Lender, he will be in charge of the loan department and credit function, in addition to still working with his small business customers.
