Tri Star director named to state board

CELINA — Tim Buschur, director of Tri Star Career Compact, in Celina, was recently named as the president of the executive board of the Ohio Association for Career and Technical Education at it’s annual summer conference, according to a release from Tri Star.

Buschur is now responsible for “promoting career technical education, working for the best interests of career-technical students from across the state and representing the interests of Ohio’s career technical education to Ohio legislators/government,” according to the release.

AWARDS

Construction company recognized nationally

LIMA — Trisco Construction Services was named one of the Top 50 Contractors of the year by Walls and Ceilings Magazine for the second year in a row.

A sister company of Lima’s Trisco Systems, Inc., the company does repair and rejuvenation of building facades, according to a release.

Owners Brian and Steve Walter “credit this ‘back-to-back’ prestigious award to their great employees, craftsmen, and suppliers/vendors,” according to the release.

CERTIFICATIONS

Virtual Technologies Group certified

LIMA — Virtual Technologies Group was awarded Select Certification from Cisco.

The certification recognizes Cisco partners who concentrate on small- and medium-sized busineeses, according to a release from Virtual Technologies Group.

“Virtual Technologies Group has provided Cisco services for more than 25 years,” Chuck Greeley, CEO at Virtual Technologies Group, said in a statement. “Achieving Select Certification status is one of many steps we are taking to expand our networking capabilities and data center support services.”

ELECTIONS

Elida resident to serve national association

ELIDA — An Elida resident was recently chosen as an alternate delegate to the 132nd annual American Angus Association Convention of Delegates.

Brent L. English will serve as the alternate at the convention on Nov. 5 in Overland Park, Kansas, according to a release from the association.

English is one of 309 Angus breeders chosen to serve as an alternate state representative at the annual meeting.

NEW HIRES

Crawford named manager at Sidney firm

SIDNEY — McCrate, DeLaet & Co., an accounting and business consulting firm, recently named Tiffany M. Crawford as a manager.

“Tiffany brings a wealth of experience to our office,” Don Goettemoeller, a partner of the Sidney firm, said in a statement. “I think our clients will really enjoy working with Tiffany and will appreciate her dedication and overall work ethic.”

Crawford, who graduated with a bachelor’s and law degree from Ohio Northern University, has been in the industry since 2007 and specializes in tax. She is also a licensed attorney in the state.

In her new position, Crawford will do tax planning and compliance.

New sales rep in Lima

LIMA — Proforma Add-A-Line has added a sales representative and business consultant.

Brady Schroeder will help clients to create marketing campaigns, develop new business and more, according to a release from Proforma. He will work at the Lima location at 1207 Findlay Road.

“Brady is an excellent addition to our team,” Bob McPheron, owner of Proforma Add-A-Line, said in a statement. “We know his ability to maintain customer satisfaction while contributing creatively to their projects will be very beneficial in helping our clients achieve their business goals.”

Eakins named superintendent at Florida district

TAMPA — Jeffrey Eakins, a 1983 Upper Scioto Valley Schools graduate, was recently named the superintendent of Hillsborough County School District in Florida.

The district, in Tampa, is the eighth-largest in the nation and hosts 200,000 students, 25,000 employees and 260 school sites.

Eakins, the son of David and Caroly Eakins, of Wapakoneta, attended The Ohio State University and got his master’s degree at Nova Southeastern University.

He has experience in teaching, administration and previously served as the Deputy Superintendent of the district.

Josselyn promoted at Dayton hospital

DAYTON — After serving as a cardiac intensive care nurse for several years, Upper Scioto Valley Schools graduate Diane Eakins Josselyn was recently promoted at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton.

Josselyn, the daughter of David and Carolyn Eakins of Wapakoneta, was promoted to administrative director of critical care nursing.

Josselyn, of Englewood, has served as a nurse, clinical nurse manager for medical and surgical intensive care and clinical care coordinator for the past 16 years.

She’s now attending Wright State University’s master’s degree in nursing program.

OTHER RECOGNITION

Health Partners recognized

LIMA — Health Partners of Western Ohio has been named Hypertenstion Control Champions.

The recognition, from Million Hearts, goes to health care providers who “achieved blood pressure control rates of at least 70 percent in their patient populations through innovations in health information technology and electronic health records, patient communication and health care team approaches,” according to Million Hearts’ website.

“The results are in, and we are in it to win it,” according to an email from Health Partners. “With a solid score, we are entering the 2015 Hypertension Control Challenge.”
