According to a Facebook post by the Van Wert Police Department, police officers, along with the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 12:45 p.m. Monday at a residence in the 600 block of East Main Street. The search uncovered a “very large” grow operation of Psilocybin Mushrooms, commonly known as magic mushrooms.
Additionally, LSD and dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, both of which are hallucinogenic drugs, were located and confiscated, along with a loaded Glock 9mm handgun and other drug-related items.
All the confiscated items were transported to an Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation lab for testing. Pending the results of the lab tests, several felony cases are expected to be presented to Van Wert County Prosecutor Eva Yarger for the grand jury.
