Mayor reminds Lima residents of Spring Clean Up event

LIMA — Lima Mayor Sheretta Smith reminded residents on Wednesday of the upcoming Mayor’s Spring Clean Up event from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. During this event, dumpsters will be available at select locations for residents to dispose of trash and junk.

The Boulevard Neighborhood Association will host a dumpster site at Superior Credit Union, 1571 Allentown Road. Other locations for Saturday’s event include Forest Park United Methodist Church, 315 S. Collins Ave., Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, 715 W. Market St. and the City of Lima Housing and Neighborhood Department, 900 S. Collett St.

Brush and tires will only be accepted at the Collett Street site, and no propane tanks, mercury switches, radioactive materials, compressed gas cylinders or aerosol cans, batteries, chemical waste, appliances or large furniture will be accepted at any sites.

Other clean-up events will be held on May 21, June 4 and June 11.
