Van Wert project receives $2.6m tax credit

VAN WERT — The $36.3 million historic rehabilitation project in Van Wert’s business district will receive a $2.6 million tax credit as part of the states $1.4 billion investment in Ohio communities.

The project will preserve and enhance the downtown assets which will be redeveloped as retail, office, institutional, and dining space. It will also house 58 residential units, with more than 49,000 square feet of commercial space.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced state support for 13 mixed-use development projects that are expected to result in more than $2.1 billion in new Ohio payroll and spur more than $1.4 billion in investments across the state.

Another round of the Transformational Mixed-Use Development Program will open in the coming months.
