Items seized from vehicle following foot pursuit


LIMA — Multiple items were seized from a vehicle today by the Lima Police Department following a foot pursuit.

Officers initiated a traffic stop at 11:12 a.m. near the area of Main and Haller Streets in Lima for the smell of marijuana.

Once the vehicle was stopped, a man, now identified as Marquise Turner, 21, of Lima, exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Following a brief pursuit, officers were able to detain him. He has been identified as a rear passenger.

Multiple items were found in the stopped vehicle, which was occupied by four other people, including a handgun, cocaine, heroin and marijuana.

Turner was arrested for suspicion of possession of a weapon while under disability, suspicion of tampering with evidence, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

Delquan Williams, 21, of Lima, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, suspicion of possession of cocaine and suspicion of possession of heroin.
