Allen, Putnam County health departments plan booster clinics

LIMA — Allen County Public Health is now offering coronavirus boosters for all vaccine brands from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at the Lima Mall in the former Elder-Beerman store, 2400 Elida Road, Lima.

Booster shots are recommended for all adults who received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine at least two months ago.

For those who received Moderna or Pfizer as their original vaccine series, boosters are recommended after six months for seniors 65 years and older; adults who live in long-term care settings; and adults who have underlying health conditions and those who live or work in high-risk settings.

Booster doses do not need to match the original vaccine series.

The health department will also offer first and second doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines; single doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine; and flu shots. Call 419-228-4636 or visit gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins also accepted.

Clinic participants should use the east doors of the parking lot across from the N. Cable Road car dealership.

In Ottawa, the Putnam County Health Department will host a Moderna coronavirus booster clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Ottawa Knights of Columbus, 10760 Road H, Ottawa. Call the vaccine hotline at 419-538-7001 between 9 a.m. and noon Thursday, Oct. 28, to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will also be accepted on a limited basis.
