Who’s eligible?

•All adults and children age 12 years and older.

• Allen County remains an area of high transmission for COVID-19, according to Allen County Public Health. The case rate for the past 14 days was 628.2 per 100,000 people, down from 707.4 seven days prior. The rate is still considered six times higher than the rate to be considered high transmission. In the past 14 days, 20.1% of COVID-19 tests in the county have been positive, and the Centers for Disease Control considers anything about 10% to be high transmission.

• Allen County Public Health reported six new deaths in the past seven days, including an 88-year-old man Oct. 12, a 52-year-old man and 68-year-old man on Oct. 14, a 72-year-old female and 91-year-old female on Oct. 18 and a 46-year-old male on Oct. 21. The weekly deaths are down from 14 last week and six the week before.

• The full vaccination rate in Allen County is 38.26%.

• The Ohio Department of Health released its weekly statistics on COVID-19 cases in schools Thursday.

In Allen County, Shawnee had 15 new student cases and two new staff cases. Lima had 11 new student cases and four new staff cases. Bath had 11 new student cases and one new staff case. Elida had eight new staff cases. Apollo Career Center had five new student cases. Delphos had two new student cases and two new staff cases. Bluffton, Delphos St. John’s and Perry each had two new student cases. Allen East had one new student case.

In Auglaize County, Wapakoneta had 20 new student cases and one new staff case. St. Marys had six new student cases and one new staff case. New Bremen had one new student and one new staff case.

In Putnam County, Columbus Grove and Ottawa-Glandorf each had three new student cases. Leipsic and Pandora-Gilboa each had two new student cases. Continental and the Putnam County Educational Service Center each had one new student case and one new staff case.

• The ODH also updates its list of new cases in area long-term care facilities.

In Allen County, Shawnee Manor had five new resident cases and nine new staff cases. Lima Manor, The Springs of Lima and Vancrest of Delphos each had one new staff case.

In Auglaize County, Wapakoneta Manor had 10 new resident cases and seven new staff cases. Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community had eight new staff cases. Elmwood Assisted Living of New Bremen had three new staff cases. Cridersville Nursing Home, Grand Lake Healthcare Center nursing home and Otterbein-Cridersville nursing home each had two new staff cases. Otterbein-St. Marys Retirement Community had one new resident and one new staff case. Heritage Center for Rehab and Specialty Care nursing home had one new resident case. Auglaize Acres and Vancrest of St. Marys had one new staff case each.

In Putnam County, the Meadows of Ottawa had three new resident cases and three new staff cases. The Meadows of Leipsic had two new resident cases and one new staff case. The Meadows of Kalida had one new staff case.
