Halloween is only a few weeks away, which means it’s time to start stocking up on candy now. Specifically, Ohioans, that means Charms Blow Pops.

Wait, what?

Yes, it appears that the lollipops with the bubblegum centers are the most popular candy in the Buckeye State. That’s according to research by the online bulk candy store CandyStore.com, which used 14 years of data to put together a list of each state’s most popular treats.

In Ohio, those would be Blow Pops, followed by M&Ms and Starburst.

Surprised? Disappointed? Well, at least we’re not Montana, where the candy of choice is Double Bubble bubble gum.

The average home spends $32 on trick-or-treat candy, according to the National Retail Federation.

The top ways consumers are planning to celebrate include handing out candy (66 percent), decorating their home or yard (52 percent), dressing in costumes (46 percent), carving a pumpkin (44 percent) and hosting or attending a party (25 percent).
