Driver of hit-and-run accident sought in Auglaize Co.


WAPAKONETA — The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help in locating a driver of a vehicle that was involved in an accident shortly after midnight Thursday. The driver left on foot from the scene of the accident in the 1400 block of Knoxville Avenue, near St. Marys.

The driver, identified as Vincent Oleyar, 44, of rural St. Marys, was located Thursday afternoon, the Auglaize County Sheriff’s office said. Oleyar, at 6-foot-0, 205 pounds, was last seen wearing a gray Tractor Supply T-shirt. Oleyar may have been physically injured as a result of the accident and might have been disoriented, the sheriff’s statement said.

The sheriff’s office, with the help of several other agencies, had been attempting to locate Oleyar. He was believed to be in the area of state Route 29 and Barrington Road on the east side of St. Marys.
