DELPHOS — The end of summer means it’s time for Canal Days: For four days this weekend, downtown Delphos will be converted into a festival of carnival rides, magic shows, games and live music to celebrate the changing seasons.
The festival will open on Thursday with a Toast to the City reception on Main Street, reservations required.
On Friday, food trucks will start serving their classic fair fare at 11 a.m. before the beer tent, carnival rides and other festivities begin in the evening.
New this year are paint and sip sessions under the side tent on Friday and Saturday. Participants can register with the Delphos Chamber for an afternoon of wine tasting and painting, starting at $30 for painting only or $40 for painting and two glasses of wine.
Back this year is the golf cart poker run, a popular contest in which participants hit the bars in their golf carts before playing a round of poker.
Other festival favorites like the 5K run-walk, Optimist Club pancake breakfast, Canal Days car show and cruise-in, parade and Battle of the Businesses will also be back this weekend.
And each day will feature a variety of carnival rides, live music and family-friendly entertainment, including performances from hometown magician and comedian Krendl.
