Masks required starting Monday at courthouse, justice center

LIMA — Starting Monday all people — employees and visitors alike — entering the Allen County courthouse and Allen County Justice Center will be required to wear facial coverings.

Allen County Common Pleas Court judges Jeffrey Reed, Terri Kohlrieser and Matt Staley issued a joint statement Thursday announcing the requirements, which they noted were based on recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and the Ohio Department of Health.

The order says the decision to require masks was made “in consideration of the rise in COVID-19 infections largely due to the delta variant, which has resulted in reported infections in Ohio rising over 3,000 per day on three separate days over the last week in part causing all Ohio counties, including Allen, to be classified as an area of high transmission.”

People failing to comply with the directive will be denied access to the facilities.
